Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling halls that lie just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, in which casino wagering is not allowed. Eight gambling dens are anchored in a relatively small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent area, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest wagering locations in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai laborers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the gambling halls ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million, and there are a few restrictions requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mostly Thai; however, funding sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and though visas are allegedly necessary to cross, there are methods around this, as is accurate of many borders.

The 1st Cambodia gambling dens premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary boat gambling hall, features 150 slots and 60 tables. The Naga river boat is open 24 hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat banque, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The 1st gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are one hundred and fifty slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights 300 slot machines and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machine games and 96 table games, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most popular game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Additionally, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the normal table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the 8 gambling dens in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and ninety seven games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-around resort and hotel compound that contains many luxuries in addition to the casino, which provides 10,000 square feet of 130 slot machine games and 88 gaming tables.
